 Text Box: I’m Joanne Vezina, 34 years old and I’ve been here for almost 9 years. Canaan is nice, the food  is good as well as nutritious,  The location, Campbell's Bay is beautiful and peaceful too. The people are so very friendly in this area, and whenever I  walk around the town I feel safe and comfortable cause there’s nothing to be afraid of.  The staff are very loving and caring, they always  talk and joke around with me.   I really love Canaan, I will never ever leave,  because I’m receiving wonderful care, and understanding, I have lots of friends not only here in Campbell's Bay but also in the Philippines, I’ve  been there 5 times because the staff help me save the money to visit there.

Text Box:  At my former Residence  I had to share a room with another homeless person, and we only received $112:00 each for spending money from our disability pensions. The food was bad at the residence where I lived ,so I would buy food outside as long as I had money, or with help from a friend, I would visit the food banks.   Many times my clothes were not washed for  months, because I had to pay to have my clothes cleaned, 112:00 does not go far.   Since I moved to Canaan, I started to save money every pay day,  I no longer buy  food and my laundry is cleaned for me. The spending money from my pension is more then  twice, what I was receiving at my former residence. With help I was able to quit smoking, and from the money I saved  I've been to the Philippine 4 times, I purchased a brand new colour TV and DVD player.   Canaan is located in a lovely and friendly area, the staff are good people, they helped me  a lot, they go with us when we have doctor’s appointments, visiting  friends & family, etc., and there always there whenever you need them.  My name is Brian Nadeua, 52 yrs. Old and I’ve been here for  5yrs.
