 Text Box: Hi!  My name is Helen I am 45 yrs. Old  I’ve been  living at Canaan for 18 years. I love the place because I’ve found peace and quiet, the staff are so friendly and they treat us as brothers and sisters. Whenever I have a problem or am having a bad day, they are always there to comfort and encourage me. I have been in and out of many group homes before I came to Canaan, many could not handle  me so they threw me out, others I left or ran away from. Canaan took me in and over the years helped me to be a better person.  Canaan is my home  

Text Box: I’m 60 yrs. Old and still a bachelor, I’ve been staying at Canaan for almost 16 years.  Before taking up residency at Canaan I was always having to be hospitalized because of my depression, it has been 16 years since my last hospital stay, my medications have been reduced, I now see my doctor every 3 months for follow up. My doctor told me I had maybe a year to live if I did not quit smoking, the staff and other resident family members  helped me to accomplish this, I have not smoked for 5 years now. I have saved the money I would have smoked away and have gone to the Philippines 3 times By the grace of God, Canaan saved my life, and gave me reason to live   my name is Larry
